Inishmore

Inishmore

Off the west coast of Ireland are the Aran Islands where the famous knitted Aran sweaters come from. These islands have unrelenting weather — rain and wind that smoothes the limestone rocks. This vegetation grows in cracks hiding from the weather but flourishing with the rain on Inishmore, the largest of the islands. Photographed at Dun Aonghasa, the cliffside fort built in 2000BC by the ancient Celts.
